Killzone 3 was one of the most critically acclaimed PS3 titles so it’s with no surprise at all that the studio behind it, Guerrilla, has started working on Killzone 4.
But what may be surprising is that it was reported earlier last week that one of the main studio’s in SCE’s stable has stopped working on the PS3 version of their title and is now working on making it a PS4 exclusive launch title.
The fervent backing that the Killzone franchise has makes it the perfect launch title for a new console so I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if both these rumours are correct.
It’s also being rumoured that the Senior Producer from both Killzone 2 and 3, Steven Ter Heide, is now the Executive Director for Killzone 4 which ensure the feel of the game will continue at least.
Nothing has yet been confirmed and in reality all these rumours could just be the development of the known Killzone Vita title but it’s ludicrous to think Sony and Guerrilla aren’t going to take the Killzone franchise out for one more payday. Especially when the fans really want to see at least one more title in the story.
And if you were wondering what the basis of the new game will be then just think back to that clip that played at the end of Killzone 3
