Persona 5 gameplay trailer

If there’s one genre of gaming I’ve never really been grabbed by, it’s JRPGs. I’ve tried games numerous times, and fully understand why a lot of them are fantastic games, but I’m just not as hooked by them as most fans. That said, it’s hard not to like what’s going on in the new Persona 5 trailer – even if you aren’t exactly sure what’s going on.

It’s a slick, stylish and entertaining trailer, which also gives fans their first glimpse at some gameplay. The trailer also showcases the cast and some settings, as well as a snippet from the rather awesome soundtrack. Seriously, the music is easily the best part of the whole thing.

Persona 5 was slated for release last year, but has been pushed into 2015 like so many other titles before it. It’s still set to launch on both PS3 and PS4, and right now Atlus isn’t saying anything about the potential of other platforms. Considering how badly the Xbox One is doing in Japan, that’s unlikely to change either.

It’s been a long time since a new Persona title, so I understand why the internet suddenly exploded when the trailer went up (looking at you Umar). Too bad there still isn’t a release date.
