I’ve always imagined video game art to be the most thankless job in the world. You can’t make a hot new game without a vision, and more often than not said vision is brought to life by a dedicated team of artists. Creative people, whose sole task is to give life to the ramblings of the development staff and produce visual prototypes of everything from the main characters through to the pebbles that players run over with nary a thought to the hours poured into painting those games into life. It’s a hard job, one that requires more and more hands for it the larger a game becomes.
