Console emulation – that is to say, running old console games on your PC (or even another console!) is a bit of a legal grey area. It’s allowed me to play a ton of games I’d never have been able to otherwise – especially hacked translations games that were originally only released in Japan – so I have a fair bit of unbridled love for emulation. This custom built Nintendo emulator pushes that love in to overdrive.
Reddit user woolydawg5 has built the ultimate Nintendo system emulator – and stuffed inside the shell of a dead NES. It plays NES, SNES, Gameboy and N64 games – and even has the applicable ports to plug in controllers for each system. I’d really pay good money for this. you can see a more detailed account of everything at woolydawg5’s imgur.
“I spent the first month of my summer tirelessly working on creating the ultimate in classic Nintendo Emulation. This system emulates NES, SNES, N64, and Gameboy games. But the best part about it is that all these games are played on the original classic controllers,” he says of the project.
