This Thief E3 trailer tells me nothing

1 min read

garrettE3 starts this week. Publisher Square Enix will be showing off a ton of stuff this year, including the likes of Deus Ex: The Fall, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Deus EX: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut, but if there’s just one game of theirs that I’m aching to see more of, it’s the new sequel to Thief. And here’s that game’s E3 trailer, released just a little earlier than it was supposed to have been.

Unfortunately the trailer tells me absolutely nothing that I want to know about the game – other than the fact that it’s not Stephen Russell and thus not really Garret. And he seems to be missing that mechanical eye – so once again, it’s not really Garrett.

I really hope the game is better and truer to its source than this live-action trailer would suggest. I’ll get to give it a look at E3 this week – so if you have any questions you’d like answered, leave them in the comments section.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
