Maybe it’s time for Freddy Krueger to get a new dating profile up, as that one is kind of misleading. In an age where the greatest monsters of stage and screen where fictional slashers with a talent for surviving death and killing off promiscuous teenagers in increasingly gruesome fashion, Freddy Krueger may just be the best out of the lot. He’s pure evil, hate and terror wrapped up in a package of burnt skin and a clawed hand that revels in mayhem, a true monster who delights in the suffering of others.
He’s also a sweet guy…literally!
With Halloween around the corner, there’s more than a few movie festivals going on around the world that are proving that every town does indeed have an Elm Street. For the recent birthday screening of Nightmare On Elm Street 2 for lead actor Mark Patton at Fantastic Fest, the organisers wanted to do something special for the man of the hour, which resulted in a call being made to SideSerf Cake Studio to whip up a dream treat:
Now that, is just amazing work. Every crack of the skin, every scar and that trademark scowl was perfectly captured in that delicious masterpiece, and just seeing how it was made is a revelatory experience. It’s a cake that I can only dream about sampling, but considering the source material at hand, maybe it’s for the best.
