Fans of retro gaming are going to need to be a little bit more patient because one of the hottest new devices to play the grimiest of video game cartridges you have gathering dust in the corner of your cupboard, has been slightly delayed. The Analogue Pocket, which was originally due to ship in May, will now only be arriving in October.

One of the most exciting consoles coming this year isn’t the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X. Who needs bleeding edge graphical powerhouse machines when you’ve got handheld consoles that already have a library of established excellence? That’s the idea behind the Analogue Pocket, which finally went on sale yesterday. And within eight minutes, was completely sold out.

Taking things a step further after having worked on the Mega SG and Super ST consoles that were all the rage not too long ago, hardware developer Analogue is thinking small and big for their next device. Say hello, to the Analogue Pocket.

Most modern TVs aren’t equipped to transmit the images from a Mega Drive. While you can rely on other solutions such as stealing a 4:3 aspect ration television sets from a high school or the use of emulators, there is another way to get your fix of nostalgia.
