Twenty years later, and Crash Team Racing is back on the trac, ready to kick some marsupial butt and leave the competition in its dust. Alessandro recently had a chance to take the game for a few laps, and believe it or not…He’s actually good at this game.

Crash Team Racing is almost unbelievably faithful to the original PlayStation 1 kart racer from Naughty Dog. Whipping my kart around the long corners of Tiny Arena felt like I was a kid again, experiencing arcade kart racing for the first time again while mastering all the right jumps and angles for efficient boosts and drifts. But like both the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro Trilogy remasters before it, Crash Team Racing using more powerful hardware to make these remakes stand out in new ways. With Crash Team Racing that’s clearly evident in its more effects heavy and detailed races, but modern enhancements are taking hold off the track too.

What’s old is new again! Hot off the backs of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon remasters, Activision is planning to bring back their trademark jorts-sporting marsupial for another remake of the past. This time though, Crash ain’t bouncing around a stage like a furry version of John Cena, he’s taking to the tracks and getting ready to burn some rubber in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

It’s going to be a tough week for some people in the video game industry. While it’s not official yet, it looks like Activision Blizzard will be shedding some weight on Tuesday as financial site Bloomberg has reported that the publisher will be handing out pink slips to hundreds of employees.

It was rumoured and hinted at before the Game Awards, and now it’s official. Crash Bandicoot himself took the stage to reveal that Crash Team Racing is indeed being remastered.

Following success with the N.Sane Trilogy last year, a new rumour suggests Activision is going all in on the former Sony mascot, including a brand new game in 2019.
