Amazon wins the Culture wars, nabs the TV rights to Iain M. Banks’ space opera Consider Phlebas

As part of their recent aggressive push for more genre programming, Amazon have picked up the TV rights to the first of the late Scottish author Iain Banks' Culture novels, Consider Phlebas. Utopia's Dennis Kelly has been tapped to adapt the space opera that features war between galaxy-spanning civilisations, shape-changing mercenaries, and vast A.I.s to life for the online giant.
