At BlizzConOnline, Blizzard’s newest Diablo 4 announcement was an update on a classic: The return of the Rogue class from the original Diablo game, who’ll be playable alongside the Barbarian, Druid, and Sorceress.

BlizzConOnline kicks off in a handful of hours, and while fans are expecting some sort of update on Diablo 4, it looks like the development team just dropped some early and meaty tidbits on how the game is shaping up so far. In the latest update, Blizzard revealed how the grim RPG is handling elements such as storytelling, its open-world, and seamless multiplayer.

BlizzConOnline will be a free show that will be streamed from February 20-21, and will encompass everything that Blizzard is currently ready to talk about. There’ll be a number of main channels that you can tune into, each one dedicated to a franchise, and providing deep dives into what’s next for those games and a behind the scenes look at other aspects of their creation.

Technically a game can’t be delayed if it never had a release date, but if you were expecting to play Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 in 2021 then buddy do I have some bad news for you.

Blizzcon has been doing virtual events for a while now but this will be the first time that the event is free for all attendees.

There seems to be fear in the air regarding the online component of Diablo 4, not only from the days of horror that gave birth to the the infamous Error 37 in Diablo 3’s earliest runs but also an underlying uneasiness of MMO elements that may be at odds with the core feel of how a Diablo game should play. Don't worry though, because Blizzard is on the case!

With BlizzCon’s cancellation, that leaves behind a large gap in the gaming scene, one that fans who are hungry for news on Overwatch 2, Diablo 4 and a number of other Blizzard projects are dying to hear more about.
