By Gavin Mannion

On Wednesday I posted about that idiotic PS3 ad that served no purpose and then yesterday we posted about the first video in the new Xbox 360 advertising campaign that was once again a little off key. Now it’s the Sims turn to have its advertising posted. However they get away with having a pointless advert because lets face it, …

Courtesy of a  Rock Band 2 advertisement in Xbox Live we now have a good indication of when the Xbox 360 will receive its major dashboard overhaul. The ad says simply, “Check out the New Xbox Experience coming in November!” It also adds, “Coming in November, playing Rock Band 2 and meeting up with your band mates on your …

Just a quick update, I see a few news stories are floating around this morning about Rock Band finally making an appearance down under and at a retail price of AUD$250 (R1616) for the whole set which is not a bad price at all. Unfortunately I received confirmation from EA South Africa this weekend that there is still no local …

After all the controversy and internet hate that Spore and its draconian DRM have been receiving it was really only a matter of time until EA did something about it. Well the first patch is here, it fixes a number of bugs and tweaks some game play settings. Some of the visuals and textures have been upgraded as well. A …

Mass Effect Venturing to the Big Screen

By BrettC

Mass Effect was a very good game in its own right. The storyline was fairly complex and it always seemed like a game that somebody would want to make into a movie. According to reports, film producer Avi Arad is the person who has decided to take that task on. With movies such as Spiderman, Hulk, Ghost rider and every …

Mirror's Edge Demo Delayed

By Nick De Bruyne
September 19, 2008
in :  Gaming

Some confusion on the internet has led to many gaming news websites announcing that the Mirror's Edge demo would become available on September 26. Unfortunately, anyone who was looking forward to some daredevil rooftop shenanigans will have to wait a little longer because EA has confirmed that the demo will in fact, not be available on said date, saying: "The demo will be out prior to launch (no official date yet) and the pre-order begins Sept 26". So while pre-orders will start on the 26th, no official date for the demo's availability has been set. Be sure that when a date is announced we will have the story.

NFS Undercover Gameplay Footage (PS3) – Different Enough?

By Nick De Bruyne
September 19, 2008
in :  Gaming

The first time that you see gameplay of an upcoming game you can mostly see what the game is going to play like. After all of the cinematic movie trailers we have seen, we finally get to take a look at the actual gameplay for the first time. So then, what do you guys think? Have EA done enough to push the series in the right direction or does it look like they are just falling back onto whatever sold well? I am happy that they have moved away from the Pro Street idea, but I have to admit that this video absolutely reeks of Most Wanted in every way. I guess that now it will all be up to the way that they approach the campaign mode and how it will all play out.

The FREE Burnout Paradise DLC has arrived on the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade and I have a feeling this is going to be an exceptionally popular download. Most of the people I game with stopped playing Burnout a while back but the chatter about the new DLC has been getting louder and now that it is available I am …
