Now this came a lot earlier than I expected, Peter Molyneux and Lionhead have confirmed at GamesCom 09 that Fable III is coming and have also given some details about the upcoming game. The game is going to add even more features that will attempt to make the player feel the weight of their actions in the form of being …

Xbox Live Deal of the Week – Fable

By Geoffrey Tim

The original Fable – Peter Molyneux’s over-hyped, under-delivered game for the Xbox was, despite its foibles, still a fantastic game. It’s also this week’s Xbox Live Deal of the Week, which should please Fable 2 fans who wish to explore a little of Albion’s history. Or at least it would, if Xbox Originals were available to us South African Xbox …

There was apparently a big Fable 2 announcement that Lionhead was going to unleash upon us last week but they were asked by Microsoft to hold out till this week. Well it’s “next week” now and Lionhead have broken the news, Gamasutra caught it first when they reported on a entry on the official Lionhead blog that stated Fable 2 …

Fable II tops US monthly chart

By Gareth
November 14, 2008

Fable II has proven to be the most popular videogame in America throughout October. Which is not really surprising as besides chart “veterans” – Wii fit, Wii play and Mario kart, it did have the longest time on shelf for the month, besides of course Dead space which only managed to just creep in. Just yesterday, I wrote an article about how Fable 2 broke the one million copies sold mark in it’s first week on the shelves. As you all know, Fable 2 has a huge fanbase and is proving to be immensely successful. The smile on Lionhead’s faces can only go so far then they find out this next bit of news. …

Fable 2 sells 1 Million Copies in it's first week

By Nick De Bruyne

If my name was Peter Molyneux, I would be feeling pretty relaxed right now. Well, wouldn't you? There is an unspoken rule about videogaming that if your game sells a million copies, it can truly be considered successful. Fable 2 has proven itself more than worthy by crossing the one million mark in the first week of it's release. While some people get grumpy when I refer to VGchartz.com, their report for worldwide sales of the week ending on October 24th shows Fable 2 as the number seller with a total of 1,000,901 sales. I thought that Fable 2 was going to be very popular but I really didn't expect it to take off so incredibly well. Out of my personal experience I realised that I thought that most of the buyers were going to be the fans of Fable 2, completely forgetting that a lot of newer and more "casual" gamers might be interested by its approachability, which seems to also be the case. It's a pretty incredible start to Fable 2's sales, who knows how many will have sold by the end of the Christmas season.

Fable 2 Co-op Has Fans Enraged

By Nick De Bruyne

Lionhead's long awaited sequel to their Xbox Hit Fable, has finally been released and although the game is scoring very highly, there seems to be a lot of fans and gamers in general that are incredibly displeased with the online co-operative play. A huge ruckus has broken out on the Lionhead forums after one of the fans started the following thread: Jaycen2001 writes: Hey guys, thanks for the quick fix for the online multi co op. you know just taking a dump and selling it as a cool feature is kinda lame. the co op sucks hard in this game. you cant be your own character. and you cant freaken see anything because of the crappy (and I mean super crappy) camera. So, thanks for all the waiting for this cool game with this awesome feature. i hate to tell you but it blows......I dont accept your patch. take it back and give us what you promised. not some cheap knock off. Ouchies. This is how the thread starts and trust me it's all downhill from there. What makes matters worse is that one of the site mods posted a pic of handbags and asked if anyone needs one, which just made the fans even more furious. Most of the issues people are having are with regards to the fact that you can only use a henchman in other peoples games as well as issues with people not being able to take found items over to their game. We will have to wait and see how Lionhead respond.

Take A Deep Breath – It all starts on Friday

By Nick De Bruyne

Are you ready ladies and gentlemen? This Friday will be the start of what is arguably going to be the best summer of gaming that we have ever seen. You can start getting excited because Friday's line-up is looking so good already that it's crazy to think that so many more huge titles will still be coming out afterwards. More gaming goodness and information on upcoming titles, after the jump. Go check Metacritic and you will see that all three of those are receiving high eighties, with Far Cry 2 getting an 87/100 at the time of writing and both Fable 2 and Dead Space weighing in at 89/100. Midnight Club: Los Angeles has also raked in an 85/100 so far, putting it higher than I initially expected. We will also see the likes of Bioshock and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift coming our way, so all in all there is already an absolute ton of titles coming out to destroy our wallets and wear out our credit cards. Get ready folks because from Friday onwards, it's going to be a mad house. Check out our local release schedule by clicking here.
