Tis the season…to celebrate video games! It has been a monumental year for gaming, and even though the vastly superior (and infinitely cheaper to produce) Critical Hit Game Awards are in full swing, I’ll give some credit to that Geoff Keighley fella who puts on an alright show every year. Even if he does steal all my guests who I invite to the Crit awards. I mean my mom even made Bovril sammiches with the crusts sliced off this year, but no one rocked up.

In news that saw the plot thicken, fans recently cottoned on to the existence of two new Twitter accounts for ye olde Perfect Dark and Fable. Profiles for games which according to the truest of believers, are well overdue for a remake or a brand new entry. Seeing Microsoft’s Fable franchise resurrected by a developer known for creating one of the best racing games in recent memory? Hell, stranger things have happened. In a year where Microsoft truly does need to distinguish its Xbox brand with plenty of new exclusive titles, here’s one for the salt pile.

Looking back on the series, I kind of think that Fable was largely…rubbish. Make no mistake, the world-building and characters within that particular universe were top-notch, but the rest of the actual experience.Ennnnhhhhh. I’d say that Fable 3 and Fable: The Journey represented the nadir of the series, a collection of games with lofty ideas that never materialised.
