Far Cry 5 is leaning heavier on the craziness ahead of its launch, in a manner that would make Vaas Montenegro proud as its Arcade mode will allow players to drop plenty of assets from ye olde Ubisoft games such as Watch Dogs_2 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag into its map editor.

Heavy, yet light. Thoughtful yet bombastic. It’s a caveat of video games, because that’s just how they are. That’s how games like Far Cry 5 are structured, as they need to not only tell a good story, but give players of multiple demographics something fun to play.

It’s the strangest feeling to begin Far Cry 5 with the ultimate evil, the ‘last boss’, in custody, your hand resting on his bare shoulder. The intimacy is eerie. You expect that this can only go badly wrong, and it does.
