A ton of new screenshots for Final Fantasy VII Remake shows off Midgar, new locations and characters

I’m still riding a Materia high after having experienced the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo, a slice of game that allowed to not only wield Cloud Strife’s infamous Buster Sword with subtle hints of Crisis Core gameplay, but also allowed me to switch things up and try my hand at a more classic RPG approach. The game is looking good, the visuals are impossibly spectacular for a base PS4 title and if this is but the first chapter in a massive saga that retells a classic tale then I’m ready to rock and roll.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s delay won’t be an issue for development on Part 2

Originally meant for a March 03 release, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was slightly pushed back to April 10, an extra wait on top of a game whose development cycle had been in incubation for a good couple of years. Here’s the question though: What does this mean for the next chapter in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, considering that the April debut only covers the Midgar chapters? Will there be a big delay in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2? Nope, says Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda!

Fans aren’t happy with a Final Fantasy VII tribute concert that used mostly MIDI songs instead of live performances

The idea was simple: Final Fantasy VII’s soundtrack, performed live by an orchestra on the eve of E3 2019. What could possibly go wrong? A LOT! According to fans who attended the event, the majority of the concert didn’t even feature a single pluck of the strings or a quick toot of some brass but rather relied on MIDI files being broadcast through the venue.

Square Enix has yet to host their conference, which you’ll be able to watch tomorrow morning in South Africa at the ungodly hour of 3AM. If you were planning to watch that purely for the release date for the first bit of the Final Fantasy VII remake, then you needn’t bother. Square’s Tetsuya Nomura took to the stage at a special E3 concert dedicated to Final Fantasy 7 in Los Angeles last night and revealed the release date for the first episode: March 3, 2020.

I don’t know about you guys, but I kind of hate the sound of silence. I’m the type of fella who works best when there’s a touch of music in the air, especially if said music is orchestral in nature. Or Hanson. Only god can mmmjudge me yo. Anyway, if you were ever looking for a video game franchise that has a banging selection of soundtracks to its name, then Final Fantasy has you covered.
