Rockstar is looking at releasing a “moderately sized” GTA than can be expanded upon after launch with regular updates, creating a cadence of content similar to what GTA Online currently experiences.

After an extended break beginning in the spring of 2019, Dan Houser, Vice President, Creative at Rockstar Games, will be leaving the company.

I still maintain that we’re living in a glorious golden age of original video game soundtracks, but there’s nothing wrong with tapping your foot to whatever is currently dwelling on the top 40 charts! While you’ll seldom see licensed tracks appear outside of sports and sandbox games these days, there was an age where developers couldn’t get enough of professionally produced tracks. Well, that was fun while it lasted. Earlier this week, GTA Online players managed to convince themselves that a sixth instalment in Rockstar’s premiere sandbox of crime was on the way. According to reports, players got their hands on an in-game pop-up that announced GTA 6 for 2019. Yeah, that ain’t happening, as it was the work of some savvy mods within GTA Online.

Rockstar Games have another version of their iconic franchise chapter on the way, albeit focused purely on the online shenanigans that kept Grand Theft Auto V alive and rolling for so long after launch.
