I was totally amped when I found out that I had to review Fable 2. I loved the first game and could seriously not wait to get my grubby little paws on the new game. I had to literally force myself to stop playing the game and start writing the review… yes, it’s that good. This is one of those …

Fable 2 Co-op Has Fans Enraged

By Nick De Bruyne

Lionhead's long awaited sequel to their Xbox Hit Fable, has finally been released and although the game is scoring very highly, there seems to be a lot of fans and gamers in general that are incredibly displeased with the online co-operative play. A huge ruckus has broken out on the Lionhead forums after one of the fans started the following thread: Jaycen2001 writes: Hey guys, thanks for the quick fix for the online multi co op. you know just taking a dump and selling it as a cool feature is kinda lame. the co op sucks hard in this game. you cant be your own character. and you cant freaken see anything because of the crappy (and I mean super crappy) camera. So, thanks for all the waiting for this cool game with this awesome feature. i hate to tell you but it blows......I dont accept your patch. take it back and give us what you promised. not some cheap knock off. Ouchies. This is how the thread starts and trust me it's all downhill from there. What makes matters worse is that one of the site mods posted a pic of handbags and asked if anyone needs one, which just made the fans even more furious. Most of the issues people are having are with regards to the fact that you can only use a henchman in other peoples games as well as issues with people not being able to take found items over to their game. We will have to wait and see how Lionhead respond.

With Fable 2‘s release date just a week away now, it’s probably about time that Lionhead Studios launched an official website for the game. But for a game as huge as Fable 2, they couldn’t just launch any plain old website. No, they had to concoct a grand Flash puppet-show/interactive story to introduce the tale behind your character. As the …

Fable 2 one button combat really works

Ill start again same as I did for Gears 2 and tell you right off the bat that the code we played at rage was old, even so I’d have to say I was rather impressed. Graphically the game is looking stunning, especially the detail, you can also see Lionhead has tried to move slightly away from the hobbit-like style …

It seems that according to chain supply issues, the Fable 2 Limited Edition has had to undergo a few changes. Lionhead announced yesterday night that the premium box, five printed fate cards and Hobbe figure will no longer be a part of the limited edition. The limited edition will now be cut down from $79.99 to $69.99, so even though there will be a few missing pieces, the price will reflect it as well. Interestingly enough, to make up for it, Lionhead are releasing quite a few free goodies to keep all of their fans happy. Find out more after the jump. They have since updated their post to announce that they will make the fate cards available as downloadable print ready PDF's saying: "By a suggestion made in the comments of this entry, we're going to release the Fate Cards as a downloadable PDF for you to print, plus we can also confirm the new LCE version will have the original LCE artwork)." To soften the blow even more, Lionhead announced that for a limited time, they will have a Fable album available on their site that will contain a selection of music from the original Fable as well as 3 new tracks from the upcoming Fable II. The current Limited Edition will now officially contain the following content at a reduced price: * Fable II game disc * Bonus DVD with new ‘Making-of’ Feature * Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVE®) o ‘The Hall of the Dead’ Dungeon o ‘The Wreckager’ Legendary Cutlass Weapon o Spartan armor and energy sword If you want to get a hold of the free album, follow these instruction given by Lionhead: Go to http://www.sumthingdigital.com , and enter “FableCollection” promotion code. This will be available beginning October 6, 2008 @ 9am PST. Good on you Lionhead! Way to keep the fans happy, I am impressed.

I have just gained a whole lot more respect for Peter Molyneux. On Friday I wrote about how developers should put their games out in the open and let people see the good and the bad. Peter Molyneux went one step further, by picking out all the flaws in Fable 2 himself. Last Updated: September 15, 2008
