Life takes a sudden turn for May (Brea Grant, After Midnight), a popular self-help book author, when she finds herself the target of a mysterious man with murderous intentions. Every night, without fail he comes after her, and every day the people around her barely seem to notice. With no one to turn to, May is pushed to her limits and must take matters into her own hands to survive and to regain control of her life.

It’s incredibly difficult to get a game kickstarted these days. The crowdfunding model – once a great big life line for many developers – isn’t as popular and successful when it comes to video games anymore. That’s likely because there have been too many big failures; games that never really got off the ground despite reaching their targets. Day of Dragons, an “online creature survival sandbox PC game set in a large, beautiful, open world with multiple biomes” seemed like it would be one of those games.

All ages gameplay, a colourful world to explore and a platforming mascot who has some potential to join the legends of the genre in the years to come. Super Lucky’s Tale won’t push your skills too far when it comes to its imaginative level design, but it’ll still be a cathartic way to wrap up the year thanks to its nostalgic focus on the past.
