EA cancels NBA Live 20, hopes for slam dunk on next-gen systems

2K’s unfathomably popular NBA2K series isn’t the only basketball game in town. Or rather, it usually isn’t, but is for now. EA boss Andrew Wilson has confirmed that EA’s binned its own NBA Live 20 this year, and will instead focus on the ne3xt generation of consoles when it returns to the court with its own game.

Fortnite dance lawsuits in jeopardy as Alfonso Ribeiro loses “Carlton Dance” copyright claim

There are several active and pending lawsuit directed at Epic Games (and other companies that have used similar dances) for the dances to be found in the battle royale game. It uses simple dances copied from an array of people, including rapper 2 Milly’s Milly Rock, Psy’s Gangnam Style dance, Snoop Dogg’s Drop it Like it’s Hot gesticulations, some kid with a backpack and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s Alfonso Ribeiro ‘s Carlton Dance.

Maybe 2018 will be the year that publishers decide to scale back on plans to make increasingly expensive video game development cycles a touch bit more profitable. At least that’s what analyst Doug Creutz from financial service and investment banking firm Cowen alluded to, when he spoke to clients on CNBC .
