Joss Whedon's latest TV series - a Victorian-era-set female-led steampunk spin on the X-Men - is every bit as entertaining as it sounds. So it's a pity that it arrives amid troublesome allegations against the writer/director.

August, 1896. Victorian London is rocked to its foundations by a supernatural event which gives certain people — mostly women — abnormal abilities, from the wondrous to the disturbing.
