Taking some pixel art and weaving an intricate first act out of the few blocks of data in the 1990s before the three-dimensional polygon boom was and currently still is a lost art. YouTuber Einokeino303 clearly thinks so, as the fella has created a supercut of 51 classic video game openings.

When it comes to popular media, we love to look back towards "the good ol' days". But while this reverence for nostalgia can be great, often it also leads to some laziness.

For most of us, our gaming journey began with the best console: The Sony PlayStation. It was cool, the advertising on a VHS tape made it mainstream and it had some of the best games ever that pushed the envelope in several genres. Now that’s a console that I’d love to see reimagined as a mini device.

The PS2 dashboard is still a work of art, a simplistic collection of menus which allowed players a host of options to navigate through and tweak their game output that little bit more. It’s also getting a revival, just in time for players to slap on some rose-tinted nostalgia goggles and wax lyrical about the good ol’ days.

I was already signed up for a Nintendo Classic Mini, but now I'm even more excited to play the games inside instead of just using it as an adorable figurine.
