The Outer Worlds Switch Review – Get outer my space
There’s a terrific experience to be had in The Outer Worlds, but it’s an adventure that’s done proper justice on any platform but the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch owners were left out in the cold while everyone raved about Obsidian Entertainment’s great new game, wondering just when they would get their hands on it. Said grabbing of The Outer Worlds would come in 2020 eventually! Or June 5 to be precise, as Obsidian has doubled down and committed to a proper release date for the upcoming port that’ll allow you to visit distant worlds while on the go.
What with all the talk of new games and general love for gaming, it’s sometimes easy to forget that The Game Awards are…well, game awards. Having established itself as the Oscars of gaming, the biggest night of the year had plenty of awards to give out across a wide spectrum of genres, categories and overall polish. This year saw the likes of Death Stranding, Disco Elysium and Fortnite all grabbing headlines and while Godfrey Geoff Keighley’s annual shindig may not be as swanky as the Critical Hits Awards show (Quiet guys, my parents are trying to sleep), it was overall pretty good! Here’s who won big at the 2019 Game Awards.
Last year saw the likes of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Far Cry: New Dawn and Mortal Kombat 11. This year? Expect another ten reveals throughout the night when the Game Awards kick off at the ungodliest of hours for anyone who lives on the wrong side of the GMT border.
It’s going to be another tight race to the top as 2019 was another stellar year for new game releases. The 2019 nominees have been announced for the Game Awards, with Death Stranding unsurprisingly grabbing nominations in eight of the categories.
Whether you’re on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, The Outer Worlds is a blast to play. Nintendo Switch owners however? They’ll need to wait a little bit longer but not too long.
You’d think that a game such as The Outer Worlds, what with all of its dialogue and colourful worlds, would also come packaged with such a mode but here’s the catch: It’s already colourblind-friendly.
While The Outer Worlds may have a brief narrative to chew on, the extra sidequest dishes are numerous and abundant. That all makes for a chunky game in the long run, but just how quickly can The Outer Worlds be clocked if you’re in a rush? Around 25 minutes, give or take.
It would be naive to say climate change is not real — or that …
A spooky European village. Properly scary castle mania. Vampires. Werewolves! The only thing more frightening, is a glimpse at your empty bank account when it comes to deciding whether or not you can grab Resident Evil Village this month. Capcom's successor to its long-running survival-horror franchise is finally out, and if you've read our review then you know the game is a winner on multiple levels.
