E3 is still important. It’s still an annual tradition, an event that needs to be kept alive as it creates a buzz that few other conventions can hope to match. In recent years, the show has attempted to grow with the times, opening up its doors and allowing more of the public in so that it can continue to remain relevant. It’s a good start, but more needs to be done.

Cyberpunk 2077: It looks stunning, it made Keanu Reeves more breath-taking than usual and already has some controversy attached to it. Earlier this week, Nvidia and CD Projekt Red released a bunch of screens detailing how the game is going to look delightful on PC with ray-tracing technology. Screenshots of the game that featured light dancing on surfaces hit the scene, although one image drew criticism for featuring a transgender woman in a super-duper-sexualised in-game advertising poster.

Good but not exceptional, Warhammer: Chaosbane is a solid and confident slice of medieval melee action. As Gothic as it is repetitive in the endgame phase, it’s still an enjoyable romp in the same vein as many an action RPG from yesteryear.

DOOM Eternal is a puzzle box, one that requires you to slot bullets into specifically-shaped demon heads so that you can progress. In id Software’s mind, the sequel to the hit 2016 game that made retro cool again, is a power fantasy combat puzzle.

The future of Britain doesn’t look great. It’s that potential dystopia that Watch Dogs Legion is taking place in, as Big Brother is watching you more closely than ever before, information warfare rages across the streets of London and the fight ahead against a ruthless private military corporation that has taken over, is one that cannot be won by a single hero. It’s going to take an army to overthrow Albion, and that’s where you come into play.
