The PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games, but the library is far more limited and focused on greatest hits over pure numbers. With a remaster around the corner and the memory of the more slap-dash port that was Final Fantasy 9, fan fears over Final Fantasy 8 being another rushed port to newer consoles are justified, especially in the audio department. Well fret not, because Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is sticking to the superb PSX source files.
