PVP continues to be in a precarious position within Destiny 2, and developer Bungie plans to address the high number of matches leading to a Mercy finish.

Destiny 2 has always been a game that you could set your clock to, but some big changes are on the way to Bungie’s sandbox. The first notable one? Annual expansions are no longer a thing, as Bungie is changing up the cadence for when those game-changing upgrades are released. This means that Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Witch Queen, will no longer arrive in 2021 and is now scheduled for release in “the early half of 2022.”

Perhaps that’s a little harsh but you have to admit that the similarities are pretty difficult to overlook.

Heading into its third year, Marvel Strike Force is about to unleash its biggest new addition yet: Proper PVP.

According to Pete Hines, Vice President of Bethesda, the team was shocked that players weren’t all that invested in the competitive parts of Fallout 76.

The Destiny 2 multiplayer suite of PvP activity should be a highlight of the product that will create a foundation for the sequel once it goes free to play…right? Not exactly, because ever since it first launched in 2017, Destiny 2’s PvP has not been in a healthy shape. It’s not that it isn’t fun from time to time, but it seldom reaches the highs of Destiny 1’s amazing multiplayer. Time to change all that, as Bungie has some big plans for the future of its multiplayer mode.
