Borderlands 3 crossplay update imminent for all consoles… except PlayStation
It’s not 100% confirmed yet, as the information comes from Gearbox head Randy Pitchford. Remember, never trust a magician.

Borderlands 3 launched in 2019, rolled out a quartet of DLC expansions after arrival, and is currently available as a director's cut featuring a whole bunch of extra content. It's also a hugely successful game for developer Gearbox, having earned it rave reviews alongside dumptrucks of money. So what's next for the franchise? Nothing at all.
Gearbox Studios, developers of good games like those superb Borderlands and Homeworld titles, has just been acquired by Embracer group for a cool $1.3 billion. If the name rings a bell, it’s because Embracer happens to be the same Swedish company that owns THQ Nordic and Koch Media, publishers who have a ton of games on their resume already.
I think it’s safe to say that Borderlands 3 was a hit. The core game was an addictive grind of loot ‘n shoot fun that sold five million copies in the first week, the DLC has been a welcome extension of the formula and the fandom is very very happy right now. A pity the same can’t be said for the people who made Borderlands 3, as it looks like all their hard work has resulted in them being absolutely stiffed come bonus day.
It’s reaching the point where I want to just start a weekly “Gearbox Lawsuits Weekly” column, but honestly, I wouldn’t have the space to cover it all.
Despite Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford claiming that Baker “turned down” the role, new information has come out that Gearbox refused to work with his union.
The unfolding Borderlands 3 dispute between David Eddings and Randy Pitchford just got uglier, as the former voice of Claptrap claims that the Gearbox CEO assaulted him.
Borderlands 3 even begins in a way that’ll be instantly familiar to anyone who played any of the previous games. You’re a new vault hunter in town, a charismatic threat has popped up and series icon Claptrap is there to greet you. Only this time, his distinctive voice sounds kind of…off. What gives? For Borderlands 3, Clappy’s regular voice actor David Eddings has been replaced entirely.
