You know what’s the best part of the dawn before a new console generation? All those delicious rumours which precede the launch of said devices. Microsoft currently has a leg up on Sony with last year’s unveiling of their mini Borg cube, the Xbox Series X. With a month having already been chipped out of the year that is 2020, Sony’s current strategy seems to be one of hype and tight deadlines as nary a peep regarding the PS5 has been seen so far.

Earlier this week, I spotted a handful of PlayStation 5 rumour sourced from 4Chan, the infamous anonymous board. I didn’t pay them too much attention because well, they’re rumours from 4Chan – and in the run up to a new generation, anything that can’t be verified is probably nonsense. It may have been worth diving into a little. While it may still be a load of hogwash, there’s at least one bit of the supposed “leak” that’s on the money.

In case you were wondering if Sony would finally reveal the PlayStation 5 at CES 2020 while you slept the night away, good news! They didn’t! Wait that’s bad news unless you did get up at an ungodly hour, buzzing with anticipation and hype for a reveal of an angular black box that can play games. What Sony did reveal though, was the official logo for the PlayStation 5. Which you can marvel at in all of its minimalist glory below. BEHOLD!
