Sledgehammer was developing an Uncharted styled action adventure in the Call of Duty universe. Instead they ended up doing Modern Warfare 3.

Activision and Sledgehammer games have released 9 pieces of concept art from the Modern Warfare 3 single player campaign which gives us an idea of the planning behind each scene and what we can expect to see when MW3 is released later this year.
