Sometimes the internet can be a weird place. It can turn almost anything into a weird craze that has people posting memes or performing weird challenges like putting ice over their head. And now one of those crazes, or to be more specific, a hoax is getting turned into a horror movie by Orion Pictures.

Besides for a few bright spots, local film The Tokoloshe being one of them, there’s just a lot of disappointment opening in cinemas today. Some were expected, some are surprising, but they’re mostly just bad.

Weekend box office report 10 - 12 August 2018: Audiences have been obsessed with thrills from the deep ever since Jaws invented the "Summer blockbuster". Somehow Hollywood forgot this as it predicted "Jason Statham vs a giant prehistoric shark" movie The Meg to fail, but instead the film took a huge bite out of the US box office.
