The Strong Museum of Play announces new finalists for its Video Game Hall of Fame every year, and this year’s potential inductees are a heavyweight collection of video game franchises and titles that have become legendary in the years since they were first released. Dibalo 2 Resurrected isn’t just Blizzard’s latest game to get the remaster treatment, but possibly the last one for quite some time. With the studio having done a fair job on bringing some of its older classics back to life with a few modern touches and a new coat of paint over the years, it’s perhaps a tad bit too early to start writing speculation posts about Overwatch: Reforged Edition or Hearthstone: That’s a Big Deck You Got There.

BlizzCon may have been a bust in 2020, but one of the oldest names in video games is back with a vengeance in 2021! With convention center doors still closed, the annual pilgrimage to Anaheim is off the table, but Blizzard is instead bringing BlizzCon online this year in the form of…well, BlizzConOnline. The show kicks off on February 19 and wraps up the following day, and will include plenty of panels, cosplay, and reveals.

Save for balance updates and tweaks, Starcraft 2 is done and dusted at Blizzard.

With BlizzCon’s cancellation, that leaves behind a large gap in the gaming scene, one that fans who are hungry for news on Overwatch 2, Diablo 4 and a number of other Blizzard projects are dying to hear more about.

I for one, welcome our new machine overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted Internet personality, I could be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground Silicone caves. Or at the very least, I’d instrumental in hunting down rogue StarCraft 2 pros so that they could be humiliated by the machines in their grand arenas that prove their overall superiority.

A StarCraft first-person shooter that was in development over the two years and was shaping up nicely according to insiders. Developed under the codename of Ares, this project was described as “like Battlefield in the StarCraft universe” before it was cancelled.
