A hardened mechanic (Bruce Willis) is one of a few chosen to stay awake and maintain an interstellar arc fleeing a dying planet Earth with a few thousand lucky souls on board... the last of humanity. Unfortunately, humans are not the only guests on board. A shapeshifting alien creature has also taken residence and its only goal is to kill as many people as possible. Now, the crew must think quickly and try to stop this menace before it destroys humanity.

Season four of the stellar, and now interstellar, sci-fi series The Expanse is heading to Amazon Prime Video later this year. The new season will see humanity taking its first baby steps into the Ring Gate network and out into the galaxy beyond.

The Predator opens on a starscape of swirling gasses and pinpricks of lights that immediately reminded me of 1980s film studio Orion’s title sequence. That awesome nostalgic reverie is quickly forgotten though as two alien spaceships, sleek silvery shapes realized in shiny CGI, blast into frame noisily as they engage in an intergalactic dogfight. Watching it at the time, little did I know I had just seen a very apt summation of the discordant film to come.

The Predator is a chance to really up the stakes and spill some blood. It’s not violence for the sake of violence, but rather a key factor in setting the mood of the film.

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

After being in production for what felt like ages, we finally have a proper look at Shane Black's The Predator with the first official trailer for the latest installment in the long-running sci-fi franchise.

Hot Summer Nights is the upcoming coming-of-age movie starring Timothée Chalamet. It's the summer of 1991 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. A lonely teenage boy is taken under the wing of the town rebel, falls in love with the prettiest girl in town, and gets entangled in a drug ring, all as the deadliest hurricane in New England history barrels towards the coast.

We're still a long way off from the release of writer/director Shane Black's new chapter in the Predator franchise, but thanks to actor Thomas Jane we now finally have an idea of what the new film will be about.
