Platinum Games rose up to claim the mantle of an action genre tour de force with the likes of Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising and the genre saw a rebirth in God of War that drastically changed its own formula and legacy. So what makes Devil May Cry 5 special then?
Devil May Cry 5 was revealed last week at E3, with a release date of Spring 2019. Now, Capcom has shortened that release window to sometime before March 2019.
Whatever happened to Devil May Cry though? After a fantastic fourth core game (the best in the series, come at me bros) and an amazing reimagining from western developer Ninja Theory (again, come at me baby-bros who don’t appreciate genius), Devil May Cry entered the wildlands of an uncertain future. Dante and his crew were nowhere to be seen, as the years ticked by and a new generation of consoles were born. Clearly, the time for a new Devil May Cry is now. Good timing too then, as it appears that a ton of details on the next game have leaked.
The special edition of Devil May Cry 4 is going to need something more than just extra frames per second. Like extra playabale characters, which people like myself will easily pay plenty for.
