After eight years of waiting, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out this week, 57 years ahead of schedule. Reviews have been mostly positive, praising the game’s bleak nature and incredible RPG mechanics while also taking note of its many, many bugs, but there’s a good time to be had. And a possible seizure procedure waiting in the wings as well.

Like any RPG starring nigh-unkillable zombie super-soldiers who protect a giant golf ball in the sky, Destiny 2 is all about power and the grind to increase your status in a hostile universe. Now that Beyond Light has kicked off and I’ve spent actual cash on its Season of the Hunt golden ticket so that I can unlock some bitchin’ gear, I’ve got a daily routine of grabbing bounties, heading to my favourite lost sectors and mowing down enemies in pursuit of that locked loot.

Eight years, plenty of hype, and one breathtaking Keanu Reeves moment later, Cyberpunk 2077 is officially here. The entire situation regarding early reviews has been an odd one. Only a handful of outlets and influencers got their hands on code early enough to allow them to dedicate a chunky portion of time to playing the game, with other sites and reviewers receiving their code this week.

Several delays, major shake-ups in the creative department, and an effort to get the game ready for next-gen have resulted in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 having an unsteady release date.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

At a massive 464 pages in girth (that’s a fun word to say), Cyberpunk 2077: The Complete Official Guide should have answers to any predicament you find yourself in within the game.

We’re living in an age where photorealistic games aren’t too far beyond the realm of possibility. Every year video game visuals evolve in leaps and bounds, further lessening the uncanny valley gap and coming oh so close for being recognised as a slice of real life. But video game graphics aren’t just about realism.

Next week is going to be a big one for Destiny 2. Now that the excellent Beyond Light expansion has launched, the game is getting a next-gen console makeover that’ll throw 4K visuals running at 60fps at your peepers on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
