Koticcoke

No, the Activision-Blizzard executive gamers love to hate doesn’t have  dusty white powder under his nose – instead, he’s been appointed to the Board of Directors of multi-national beverage giant, The Coca-Cola Company. According to Coca-Cola, Kotick’s job will be to use his experience to grow Coca-Cola’s business and engage with its customers through digital media.

So…when can we expect Cola of Duty, Spritecraft and Guitar Coke Zero?

"Bobby brings an entrepreneurial mindset and a high level of financial literacy and digital knowledge to our Company," said Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. "His global brand expertise and insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business and invest in enhancing our digital engagement with consumers and customers around the world."

Anybody else dying for a Pepsi?

While it’s easy for gamers to poke fun at Kotick, truth is he doesn’t appear to be such a bad guy – and his appointment to the Coke Board isn’t entirely out of place; Kotick is already a board member for non-game related organisations like the Center for Early Education, the Harvard Westlake School, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He also serves as a board member for the Tony Hawk foundation – an organisation that builds skate parks in underprivileged areas and founded the Call of Duty Endowment, a company that takes some of the money made from Call of Duty games to help raise awareness and employment of unemployed military veterans.

What an asshole.
