Looks like I’m just going to be writing about actors who happen to be relatives from the Thor movies today. Our post on Anthony Hopkins next film, a prequel by the name of The Silence Of The Class Pet should be up in an hour. Moving on, it’s a big year for movies from the house of Marvel. Iron Man 3 has Robert Downey Jr facing the pimp hand of Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin, while the mighty Thor returns later in the year for a sequel flick.
Here’s a look at the first poster for that post-Avengers movie.
The Thor sequel is shaping up to be a bit of a departure for current Marvel comic movies. While all those previous films from that stable have been set squarely in the reality of Earth, Thor has the advantage of being a franchise that can go in either reality or fantasy based storylines. And fantasy is where it’s at for Thor 2, as the sequel finds the Asgardian prince far away from the realm of Midgard, facing off against the vile Malekith who wants to sink the universe back into oblivion.
Thor: The Dark World is set to bring the hammer down in November, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano , Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.
Alan Taylor directs.
