Viral marketing, it’s not just a buzz word and a quick way for studios to generate interest in a movie, it’s…Oh wait, yes, yes it is. Still! While some studios tease fans with nothing more than a movie reveal (I hate you so much Cloverfield, so so much), other studios actually give something far more substantial to fans who solve their riddles.

And with a certain last son of Krypton arriving in June, it’s time to stock up on the Benylin and blue bomber pills, as General Zod is getting all virusey in your face. Yo.

The static has cleared on the Man of Steel website, and it has Michael Shannon’s General Zod issueing an ultimatum to our planet, demanding the return of Kal-El to his custody. That’s an interesting take on the character, as Zod benevolently hints at him being more a wayward citizen than an adversary.

Another video is due to make the rounds within in the next two days, but until then, you’re just going to have to wait until June to get your Man of Steel kicks in. Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni and Russell Crowe, Man of Steel is directed by Zack Snyder.
