We all love our pets. And most of us probably talk to them, because pets make for great listeners. But what if your dog or cat could talk back to you? What would they say? My cat would probably ask for some milk, while my dog would probably tell me to take him for a walk and give him a hug, the lovable goofball. Which sounds way better than Ryan Reynolds’ pets, who happen to want him to kill people all the time.
THE VOICES is a genre-bending film which centers around Jerry, a lovable but disturbed factory worker who yearns for the attention of a woman in accounting. When their relationship takes a sudden turn, we follow Jerry’s perspective as his talking pets, a sinister cat and benevolent dog, lead him down a fantastical, murderous path.
That’s a bad kitty! Bad kitty! No more sociopathic nudging! Actually, my cat pretty much says the same stuff to me. Because cats.
The Voices hits US theaters and VOD on February 6, and also stars Gemma Arterton, Anna Kendrick and Jacki Weaver. Marjane Satrapi directs.
