This latest trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 2 only has one shot!

I kind of feel a bit sad for the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. That may sound like a strange thing to say about the highly anticipated final chapter of a box-office record breaking franchise that has been a gigantic critical and commercial success for nearly 4 years now, but it just so happens to be a highly anticipated final chapter of a box-office record breaking franchise that’s release very close to both Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Had it been any other year, and the Jennifer Lawrence led YA adaptation would undoubtedly be the belle of the ball, but unfortunately it just feels like its currently being completely drowned out by all the noise being made about the latest 007 flick and the first proper Star Wars movie in 32 years (and yes, my maths on that is correct, despite what George Lucas might say).

And you know what makes it even worse for The Hunger Games? This final installment actually looks damn good! After the abrupt tonal gear change that was Mockingjay – Part 1 – which left a number of fans underwhelmed, and me just perturbed that they unnecessarily split the book into two movies – the franchise appears to be going out with one hell of a bang if this latest trailer is any indication. If Mockingjay – Part 1 suffered from a lack of action, director Francois Lawrence sure as hell seems to be making up for it now!

Check out the trailer below.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 also stars Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, Natalie Dormer, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson and Evan Ross. It is scheduled for release locally on November 20, 2015 (which is just one week before Spectre and just 25 days before Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
