It’s been a rocky road for the James Bond franchise as of late. A stellar start in Casino Royale was quickly derailed with a lacklustre sequel and a financial situation at MGM Studios where the series almost lost its license to thrill.

And then along came Skyfall. That film re-energised 007 as a secret agent for the modern age, while still packing plenty of fan service in. It was pretty much one of the best James Bond films ever made. Director Sam Mendes returns for SPECTRE, another Bond tale which looks like it’ll have a heavier focus on Bond’s secret orgins. Here’s the latest trailer for it:

A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

SPECTRE stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M,Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, David Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Stephanie Sigman as Estrella.

It’ll be the author of your pain from October 26.

I do believe that’s UK only. The rest of the World, including us, get it a week or 2 later. But I do stand under correction.

Oh and I love that the trailer makes use of a tweaked version of John Barry’s criminally underrated alternate main James Bond theme from ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
