Whether it’s the upcoming election season or a new trend in films starring the great emancipator, America sure seems to love them some Lincoln lately. We already saw the former president take on vampires earlier this year, while Steven Spielberg has a new biopic coming up on his final years in office.
And for a new angle, we’ll be seeing a younger version of the statesman, in The Green Blade Rises, getting some old school
Directed by AJ Edwards and produced by Terrence Malick, The Green Blade Rises charts the years that shaped Lincoln and his life, alongside the people that influenced him.
Wes “Fancy Hunger Games beard” Bentley will be portraying the first teacher of the young rabble rouser, who was notorious for some legendary fisticuffs before he settled on his path to becoming the 16th US President, while Brit Marling will portray mama Lincoln, who died when he was 9.
Still, Lincoln gained a new stepmother by the name of Sarah, who will be played by Diane Kruger, who’ll be onscreen opposite the abusive fathering of Jason “Lawless” Clarke.
Stephen Dorff will also be present as super vampire La Magra who survived his death at the hands of Blade, travelled back in time and I’m making all this up right now.
Still, nothing wrong with more Lincoln and vampires, right?
