CI Games claims their sci-fi first-person-shooter game; Alien Rage will put the challenge back in the genre. They’ve even released a cinematic trailer for it. We’ll see about that.
The trailer tells the backstory of Alien Rage. It’s all about the hunt for the ultimate power source: promethium. This power source is capable of powering an entire planet, or blowing it to tiny bits of space garbage. It’ll be up to players to make sure it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands. And, naturally, shoot the crap out of everything that comes in their way.
Needless to say players will face armies of Alien scum with one goal, to take you out. And I don’t mean on a date, bru. 14 brutal levels will reveal a number of unique weapons, each with two strategic firing modes. The game is said to include “mega-sized bosses that will push players’ FPS skills to the limit.”
Now even though the cinematic trailer shows off some pretty impressive stuff, what we really want to see is some gameplay. An E3 gameplay trailer was released earlier last month and looks much better than expected. The game might look like a mash up between all the space games we’ve already seen, but to be fair, there’s only so much you can do with space. The gameplay shows the player raking in massive scores as enemies are gunned down by different weapons. So far it seems that you’ll only be able to carry two weapons at a time.

Alien Rage will release later this year on PC, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360.

Dunno about anyone else, but lately all the FPS games are the same, its getting boring, I’m one for FPS games, but the same plot, the same “earth is in danger”, mankind is at the brink of extinction or it is some Military shooter that rips of other games, I want something else. Innovation, folks, hell the ultimate game might be, a proper FPS game, with proper Racing mechanics, parted together with legit flight simulator and strategy.

The trailer sets up a good (bit generic) back story, for change actual intelligent aliens who act in similar way to humans and due to resources betrays the humans trust and launch surprise attack. I forgave them for the reasoning of sending one guy to take on a whole race and the “stealth” drop ship with more lights than mid west American home during Christmas and more flames coming out of it than a Chinese new year celebration.
Then in the game these “intelligent beings” do not have proper body armor, needlessly run themselves into a wall of death, for some unexplained reasons take some of their compatriots and surgically replace their hands with big blades (imagine this guy in the cafeteria or at the end of year office party) and have dumbass commanders or bosses hyped on steroids and surgically altered to bigger than Roseanne.

The game looks fun. Graphics is pretty. I like the intensity of the game itself. I havent played much FPS’s in a while, but i dont recall having an obvious score like in this game which is quite cool cause such a lot of games nowadays dont have that other than experience points and leveling up (I could be mistaken)
