April’s PlayStation Plus games are a mixed Monsterbag

PSplus

Last month’s PlayStation Plus Instant Games Collection titles were some of the best the service has offered. Depending on your tastes and available platforms, you might think that this month’s set of games is the complete opposite. Here’s what the instant game collection for April contains.

Tower of Guns (PS4, PS3)

A game that needs little introduction. Why? Because it’s a tower filled with guns! Over-the-top in all the right ways, try to survive this tower with random enemies, bosses, power-ups, and a boatload of bullets.

Never Alone (PS4)

This beautiful puzzle adventure tasks you with guiding Nuna, a native Alaskan girl, through breath-taking environments to save her village. Also, you get to travel with a fox! Can’t get much better than a pet fox.

Dishonored (PS3)

Players take control of Corvo Attano, a bodyguard framed for murder and imbued with powerful abilities to seek revenge. This game is all about player choice, and feeling awesome while executing extreme stealth maneuvers.

Aaru’s Awakening (PS3, PS4)

What started as a school project for a team of students in Iceland is now a gorgeous platformer about navigating treacherous terrain with well-timed teleports.

Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita)

View the iconic war against the Helghast from a mercenary’s point of view, and jump into a robust multiplayer mode to show how good (Or bad?) you actually are.

MonsterBag (PS Vita)

An adorable puzzle game about a bag-shaped monster named V trying to reach his friend Nia without scaring the pants off of people. May or may not include a battle of wits, skill, and the inevitable apocalypse.

Tower of Guns looks like some mindless fun, though Never Alone looks like it could be unbearably charming. Aaru’s Awakening looks nice enough. The biggest games this month hit Sony’s other platforms though, with excellent stealth adventure Dishonored hitting the PS3. Vita owners get Killzone Mercenary, which I thought was rather good, and MonsterBag…which I’ve never heard of.

What do you think? Is April a winner for PlayStation owners?

I think Microsoft’s dished out better games this month, with games like Child of Light, Assassin’s Creed IB, Terraria and Gears of War: Judgement being offered to subscribers.

To get the best value for ps plus, you really need the vita. But I think its a good line up.

Ok, I’m gonna have to stop buying Indie games on PS4… Every time I do, they pop up as free a few months later. I bought Never Alone in January! Same happened to me last year – bought Valiant Hearts and a few months later, free on PSN! Argh! Actually, with VH I regret nothing – such an epic game!! Glad to give my money for that game.

Every game that releases on PSN eventually comes to PS+.. Except TTG’ games for some weird reason…

For Indie titles, seems like it. I shall just have to resist a bit better… Sometimes can’t help myself – reading the description, checking out the vids and reviews and, before I know it, it’s in my cart ready for checkout… Damn you impulse buying! 🙂

What’s the April Fools joke part? It’s the 1st Xbox, not an Xbone?

These games could have been an April’s fools day joke. To bad it isn’t. Really expected more.

Not really impressed with the free ps4 games…a little disappointing, but it is still a young console, previous months games were a lot better. Still jamming transistor, still need to tap valiant hearts. I want worms damnit! :p
