New DLC on the way for XCOM: Enemy Unknown

XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been a massive hit with gamers this year, leaving them hungry for more. Meanwhile, I’ll keep naming all my soldiers after the gang and sending them on suicidal perma-death missions. Extra content is indeed on the way for the game, as well as a third add-on pack that will be free for those of you who pre-ordered it.

The Elite Soldier Pack is the first such content drop that is available right now, and it will be followed shortly by the the Slingshot Content Pack and a yet to be named piece of DLC afterwards.

In the Slingshot pack, players will initiate contact with a Triad operative to “divert an alien ship’s course, and do battle with the aliens in the skies over China.” That’s three new maps for Council missions, a new member for your squad and some more customization options. There’s no word yet on pricing, but expect it to land soon.

As for that Elite Soldier Pack, if you’ve only just started playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown and didn’t receive it for free, it’ll set you back $4.99, or 400 MS Points, and includes some classic skins and soldiers.
