Win Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance!

2 min read

It’s been a while since we’ve given you, our lovely readers some free games – so we’d thought we’d give you something that’s a..uh…cut above the rest. While Metal Gear: Rising: Revengeance is one of the finest action hack-and-slashers available, many of you are put off purchasing the game because of its short play time. thanks to our friends at Ster-Kinekor, we’ve got to copies of the game to give away so you could have the opportunity to see that its length doesn’t matter (something else I keep telling the ladies) – because it’s incredible.

That’s right, we’ve got two copies of the game to give away; one per platform. You’ll not only win the game, but also an exclusive Steelbook cover and a Metal Gear rising T shirt. Hooray!

All you have to do is head over to the competition page, fill out the form, select your platform and hit enter. Simple! You may enter as many times as you like, provided you’re using a genuinely unique e-mail address each time.

The competition, available only to those who reside within South Africa’s borders, ends next week Wednesday at 14:00. Winners will be contacted via e-mail – and prizes that remain unclaimed after 5 days will be redrawn.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.

  • Good luck to everyone, it’s a fun game, despite its shortness.

  • Deon Steyn

Done! No PC option though, sigh…..

  • Admiral Chief Erwin

What is incredible? Your short length, or the game?

    • Deon Steyn

It’s not the games length that’s important, it’s the girth.

      • Admiral Chief Erwin

Why does it seem you have been told this before? 😛

        • Deon Steyn

Nice one , I’m just elaborating on the overlords point.

          • Admiral Chief Erwin

How do you know his “point”?

          • Deon Steyn

I can read… What the hell are you on about? You’re scaring me.

          • Admiral Chief Erwin

XD you escalated the whole phallic thing :p

  • Tarisma

Easiest way to get 4 hours of fun

    • Sir Captain Rincethis

Hahahah! I can think of easier 😉

      • OVG

        • Sir Captain Rincethis

I was thinking lamb roast actually…

          • OVG

            thats 5 hours including pudding.

          • Sir Captain Rincethis

10 if you include the state of ‘I can’t move I’ve eaten too much’. Shit, if you think about how much you spend on a game that only gives you 6 hours, daphuq? Yes, it’s great to get a game that has high detail and finish, but is that really why people want to play games? For their look? What happened to story? Are people so ADD’d in the head they can’t follow more than 3 sentences strung together, without having a cut-scene thrown in to keep them entertained? I’ve seen fucking cats with more staying power.

          • OVG

This is one exception to the rule. Would one rather have this 4hour block of blue cheese spread out rather thinly over 20hour toast?

Its KOJIMA and the dudes from Platinum Games. The game is more polished than Raidens bloody sword and no cut and paste just cut to make paste.

But thanks to Bayonneta proving that you can have FUCKING CRAZY set pieces and boss fights that involve our solar system AKA Asura style……….for 10hours.

Then I think this game does fail as a R599 price tag. Will just have to wait for it to drop in price.

          • Sir Captain Rincethis

Agreed, Kojima and the boys know what the hell they are doing, and I suppose in this case I would allow an exception. I am more referring to the games that take the piss, like COD games. But that being said, COD games are for MP, so they have an excuse. DmC and Bayonneta also prove that you can have stunning visuals (although not ‘real’ looking) and a decent length story. I suppose it comes down to quality vs quantity. I think publishers should marry the two, and balance them out. Perhaps we need more linear elements, you know, take away choice, and add beautiful colourful scenes, like, oh, I don’t know FINAL FANTASY XIII! THUNDER SIGH!

  • Admiral Chief Erwin

If I enter, and win, can I swap someone for XCOM on PC? (NEW!!!)

  • Pssssht! I have the T-shirt, the game, steel case and the Raiden…

  • DaxterZA

    Awesome! 😀

  • Sir Captain Rincethis

Watched the first 10 minutes this am, I don’t care how short it is, looks amazing.

    • JayDiCee

” I don’t care how short it is, looks amazing.”
      – Said NO girl ever 😀 LOL

  • mornelithe

Pffft, go figure, always for SA, if only I could stand local gaming sites. 🙂

    • Admiral Chief Erwin

      • mornelithe

No no it’s cool, ya’ll hate me cause of the color of my…..flag!

        • Admiral Chief Erwin

          • OVG

yeah bitches!! GOD bless the red, white and blue of the good old U S of A.
            YEEEEEE HAAAAAA.

        • CaptainNemo42

You not from Oz. So you good.

    • We’ll try organise a few more competitions where we give away digital download codes (as we recently did with Dead Space 3); those are open to EVERYONE!

      • mornelithe

It’s alright, I take it for granted that every comp is for SA’ers, so most of them I just skip over anyway=)

  • Bulls Eye! really want this!

  • OVG

OK 5hours on medium played as its designed to be played 5 times anyway = 25hours of OTT KOJIMA THE WOO MASTER SPINAL RIP HEAD BANGING.

Bayonneta is still my best hack n slash.

    • Word! Bayonetta FTW!!
