Crash Bandicoot is a beloved gaming mascot who was given a resurgence in popularity thanks to the delightful Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy remaster, and the similarly rejiggered Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled. With the manic marsupial once again in favour, many hoped that we’d see a brand new Crash Bandicoot from custodian Activision, giving us further platforming adventures for a character who very nearly served as the face of the PlayStation brand, like a discount Mario.

Twitch is the de facto spot on the internet for watching games. Whet5her those be from professional and amateur streamers, or for professionally-broadcast gaming leagues. That’s changing a bit, as Activision has inked a deal with Google that’ll see the video game company jump exclusively to using Google-based tech for its gaming in the future. Not only will Activision’s multiplayer games be hosted on Google’s Cloud, but its streaming proclivities for events and leagues will be exclusive to YouTube. That means Hearthstone, Call of Duty, Overwatch and future games will use YouTube for broadcast.

In case you missed the news, Sony is skipping E3 again. Last year, Sony shocked the gaming world when the PlayStation maker decided that E3 wasn’t a necessary part of its marketing plans. Sony, dominant as they are, don’t really need a big three-day industry event to get the eyeballs on their games or their impending new hardware. In this hyper-connected world, it’s cheaper, easier and generally less stressful to just beam a video to the entire world; something Nintendo learned when they stopped hosting a great big press conference at E3 opting instead for their now adored Nintendo Directs.
