With no other convention for Warner Bros to show off their DC Comics properties, the studio is announcing its own free 24-hour long global online convention.

There’s still a ton of action, intrigue and comic book references to feast on every week, and the core shows making up that world of leather and trippy sci-fi are coming back this October. While more plans for Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lightning will be revealed at Comic Con this week, DC’s YouTube channel did drop a few new details on what to expect this year.

You can’t spell Mortal Kombat without Raiden and a brain concussion, and it looks like the same might be true for Injustice 2 as EarthRealm’s protective deity is headed to this year’s best fighting game. Here’s a quick look at Raiden in action, as well as his alternate skin which swaps the zap, crackle and pop defender of the realm for Black Lightning. Sadly, there’s no Christopher Lambert skin. Kind of disappointing not to have that option.

With Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, The CW has cornered the market on DC Comics superhero shows. But apparently that corner has room for one more in Black Lightning!

Black lightning has been in production for a while now, switching networks and lead actors for a series that tells the tale of former superhero Jefferson Pierce. Giving up his career as a crimefighter, Pierce is drawn back into the world of super-crime when his one daughter becomes determined to fight crime herself, while daughter number two decides to roll around with a local gang instead. What’s a dad to do? Slip back into some leather and start zapping away, that’s what. Here’s a look at Cress Williams in his full costume
