As a remaster, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition seems to be ticking all the usual boxes for an updated collection of classic video games for newer consoles. Plays the same, looks shinier, case closed. Sounds about right, but under the hood of BioWare’s cult classic trilogy of space exploration there happens to be some fine-tuning to the product that provides more quality-of-life upgrades in addition to the upgraded graphics.

Another year, another Assassin’s Creed…right? Not exactly. Ubisoft’s premier sandbox for ancient mysteries, bridging the generations and just plain fun action has had a more staggered release over the last few years, and the current saga is coming to an end on current-gen machines while also making a debut on next-gen consoles.

New expansion, new gameplay and New York City!

NEW FORTNITE, WHO DIS? The biggest game on the planet has just hit the reset button, and in its place is Fortnite Chapter Two. Slightly different in a visual sense, it’s still the same game of last man standing as you work your way towards a victory royale…and yet there’s a whole new game underneath that layer of familiarity as well. So what’s really changed? Well here’s a quick rundown of the eight biggest changes to hit the Epic Games smash hit battle royale.

The Hive are up to their tricks again, the dead walk the lunar surface once again and a buttload of new changes are on the way as Destiny 2 doubles down on its RPG experience more than ever before. Destiny 2’s expansions aren’t just…well, expansions. They’re massive slices of content they may add new worlds and weapons to discover, but they’re also mood-setters that shape the direction and tone of Destiny 2 for an entire year. With just a mere two weeks to go until Shadowkeep launches, Bungie is looking to move beyond the Forsaken era and its tale of revenge, and settle down for a year of spooky action that appeals to the hardest of core fans.

Between your primary death-dealers and more exotic fare, Destiny 2’s guns are in a good place right now. So good in fact, that they’ll be largely untouched come Shadowkeep.

Just like every year before it, Bungie has a few BIG changes in store for Destiny 2. Some of these changes are good! With an eye on growing the fanbase by making a large chunk of the base game free and tailoring events to give the series a soft reset for newcomers and veterans alike, the Shadowkeep era will be Bungie’s biggest effort yet at ensuring that Destiny has a future without the lucrative purse of Activision steering the franchise. Some of those other changes…are not so good.
