The most recent spate of Apex Legends bans have denied access to cheaters on a hardware level. The Hardware ID (HWID) code is unique to each to PC, and the most egregious Apex Legends cheaters have had theirs banned.

Developer Respawn Entertainment has had enough of cheaters in Apex Legends, and they’ve decided to wage a guerrilla war on them: Hit ‘em hard, hit ‘em fast and leave the offending players scratching their heads when the dust has settled.

While Fortnite is the kind of game that actually requires some skill to play it, its rising popularity has also made it massively popular with a subset of jackasses who use every hack and cheat code under the sun to steal an advantage from more legitimate players.
