Backed into a corner in the penultimate issue of Dark Nights Metal #5, things are looking pretty grim for the heroes of a world that faces a new kind of danger. The Dark Multiverse rises, our reality sinks and an army of evil Batmen have run amok as the Justice League was picked apart. Bruce Wayne has been left to rot for decades as his hope was slowly murdered in front of him, Earth’s greatest warriors have been put through the ringer and doomsday is knocking on our front door. For the price of a cup of coffee, you can own a story in your hand. A story that you can not only read, but gawk at as page after page contains the most delightful art available in the finest of narrative mediums on shelves today. This week’s selection of comic books is about as eclectic as things come: DC kicks off the Milk Wars with the Doom Patrol running into the Justice League, really really ol’ Jack Burton has something to say and Deadpool is the biggest bastard around.

Consistently entertaining and written in a manner that allows each new story arc to be the perfect point of entry for newcomers, Valiant’s line of super-spy ninjas, immortal warriors and rebellious psychokinetic teens are just begging for an adaptation in other forms of media. Well buckle up buckaroos, because the Valiant universe is about to expand into the big time.

I just wanted to know Kung Fu and not get distracted by the woman in the red dress. Something that I hope this sixth-scale version of Neo can achieve. I man just look at him. Whoa.

In April, as the mystery of Stark’s disappearance will be solved when the original Iron Man returns to action in Invincible Iron Man #599.
