Lord Saladin’s regular festival of kills for skills is back, and once again the tournament of Iron Lords has been tweaked and modified to be leaner, meaner and faster in its application of power and cunning in th era of Destiny 2: Forsaken.

How far are you willing to go to be the first? While that achievement is usually reserved for people with the quickest of fingers, being first in Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Last Wish raid was a case of endurance this weekend. With almost 19 hours on the clock, one team managed to finally break through the barriers set up in The Dreaming City, finally defeating Riven and saving the fabled Awoken homeland from an evil that existed across all dimensions.

The creme de la creme of Destiny’s end-level events, Raids are a test of skill, logic and patience as players usually realise that there’s no problem that can’t be solved by not firing an absurd amount of bullets into a cosmic space-god that transcends casuality and happens to simultaneously exist within multiple dimensions. I mean, like well duh.

Destiny 2: Forsaken returns the story that Bungie began back to its roots: A power fantasy with a more sombre story, that retools the sequel to once again feel like a hobby that’s well worth investing in, even if some rough edges do still show in this adventure to enact some old school justice on some new school enemies. Exciting, mysterious and always engaging, it’s good to see Destiny 2 back on track.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is out in the wilds, and it is a game that is both gorgeous to hop into and hilarious to watch in action thanks to its time-honoured tradition of fixing some aspects of the sandbox and then seeing other bits break in the process. Which is all well and fine, until you find yourself on the run …

One of the big new features in Destiny 2: Forsaken, is a bit of nostalgia. Specifically a throwback to Destiny 1’s infamous bounties from the House of Wolves expansion, that tasked players with hunting down some of the most wanted Fallen in the solar system after their rebellion against Queen Mara Sov of the Awoken. In Forsaken, that idea has been expanded on and reworked as players now have plenty of reasons to revisit Lost Sectors.

If you were prepared for a Herculean series of hops and leaps voer the weekend, there was a chance to grab some sweet Raid armour in a Destiny 2: Forsaken exploit that players discovered.

The Scorn are running rampant and the Awoken have granted you access to the Dreaming City so that you may finally end the scourge that has infected their homeworld in Destiny 2: Forsaken. While The Dreaming City is a superb new location to explore in Destiny 2: Forsaken once you’ve earned your passage into it, it’s also home to a brilliant new mode: The Blind Well
